- He claimed to be sinless (John 8:46-47)
- He claimed to be the only way to God (John 14:6)
- He claimed to be with God before the world began (John 17:5)
- He claimed to be able to forgive sins (Luke 5:20-21)
- He claimed to be a Heavenly king (John 18:36-37)
- He claimed to be able to give everlasting life (John 6:40)
- He claimed that He would die and come back to life (John 10:17)
- He claimed that He would return again to judge the world (Matthew 24:27-30)
Jesus' Claims and His Resurrection
CS Lewis, a former atheist turned Christian, had this to say about Jesus Christ in his famous book Mere Christianity:
"A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic - on the level with a man who says he is a poached egg - or he would be the devil of hell. You must take your choice. Either this was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us."
Put simply, Jesus Christ was either a liar, insane, or the Son of God. He claimed to be many things:
Christ's claim to come back to life is the most important claim in human history. According to the Apostle Paul, "And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith" (1 Corinthians 15:14, NIV). Religious scholars, historians, and journalists have thoroughly researched the resurrection question. The resurrection evidence is overwhelming. Should you wish to learn more about it, please see our suggested reading list in the Recommended Books and Movies section of this website.
The great big question is not that Jesus Christ rose from the grave. The evidence for Christ's resurrection is staggering. Rather, the great big question is how you choose to respond to this historical truth.
As a result of Christ's life, something very big happened. World time changed. After His resurrection, the Apostles (Christ's followers) went from being weak and frightened men to fearless followers of Him. All but one suffered and died horrible deaths. None renounced Him. Jesus made a greater impact in 33 years on earth than any other man in history. All one has to do is look at the magnitude of Christ's followers around the globe 2,000 years after He was born.

Do you have "Tough Questions" regarding Christianity?
While no website is perfect, here is one that will allow you to address "tough questions" on your own.
If you are ready to invite God into your life, here is a "Simple Prayer of Salvation".
God, I admit that I am a sinner. I accept Your offer of forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins and that He arose from the grave on the third day and hears this prayer. I commit my life to you Jesus and away from my sinful nature. I pray this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ.
If you have just prayed this prayer, we would love to offer you some materials and encouragement. Please contact us at info@livingsentministries.org or by phone at 615-447.2520. Please find a Bible-based church and attend this Sunday. Be sure to let someone know of your decision at the church and join a Sunday school class. We would be honored to have you as a guest at one of our meetings.
