Isaiah 52:7

"How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, 'Your God reigns!' " Isaiah 52:7

Isaiah brings with him a message to a people who feel as if all is lost. They have lived under Babylonian bondage for some time now. It seems the idea of Israel's former glory was out of reach. A prophetic word, a pipe-dream, and a prayer is all the people had left. Could God really bring revival, restoration and healing to the land? No one seemed certain of that. No one, but Isaiah, that is. This is the call of the hour in our own beloved land. A land that has caused the likes of an aged Billy Graham to ride through our streets and weep. A land where Christianity and it's message has been met with hostility on nearly every front. A land where the glimmer and sheen has been lost, and thus, replaced with the stale imagery of a secularized society. A land where our heroes are dead, maligned, and questioned at every turn. The question is the same. Can God really bring revival, restoration and healing to our land? I believe so!

Isaiah says the people who return to the ruins of the land to rebuild will stand "on the mountains". They will walk in step with their God, in His beauty and His majesty. They will bring "good news"! They will speak of "shalom". Their message will drip with healing, rest, and prosperity as a whole. They will bring "good tidings". They will proclaim victory in Jesus! They will speak to "Zion", meaning "a way-mark". Their word will come with a prophetic edge and their people will be a "way-mark" to the nations, as they boldly declare, "Our God reigns!" THIS is the definition of "Living Sent". Let's be that people!
