A leader’s first priority has to be the interests of their followers and their clients. You set the vision and you create the team. You model client service. The team will do its’ best to achieve the vision if it sees the leader’s interests are focused on a win - win approach. God states it clearly in this passage, "look out for the interest of others."

Unfortunately, the world teaches selfishness and a win - lose mind set. From legal proceedings, to the simple games we play for entertainment, we joke that there’s a winner and second place is just the first loser! It’s a funny joke, but it’s also a sadly accurate portrayal of too many leaders today.

What did Jesus teach as the second greatest commandment? Love your neighbor as yourself, right? As a leader, serve others and be sure you always create a win-win situation in your dealings, with your partners, your employees and especially your customers. When you follow God’s direction, you always get better results! And you’ll find the more generous you become, the more blessings will flow to you! God keeps His promises, focus on others and watch the results!

How to Live Sent

According to Dr. Amy Sherman, there are at least 4 ways to Live Sent:

1. Bloom where you are planted.

Care to help build the Kingdom right where God has you assigned in the marketplace?

2. Start something new.

Do you have a passion for addressing an unmet community need? Consider forming  either a for profit or nonprofit company and start something new.

3. Give your skills (vocational) away to a community ministry.

Is there a community ministry that could benefit from your vocational skills and talents?

4. A Church Big Vision for the City.

Does your church have a Big Vision for the City? Do you have one and want to encourage your church to consider helping you to develop it?
